DJI released a new update for its action camera, the Osmo Action. It was released on 3rd December and it brings 2 fixes and 1 new update.
Let's get into it.
Update 1: Added Loop Recording shooting mode.
What it means that it allows the camera to overwrite old files with new files for the time of the duration you have chosen saving you space on your microSD card. You have the option to record loop videos in 1080 with 50 FPS, 60, 100 and 120FPS, 2.7K with 25, 30, 50, 60 and 4K with 25 and 30 FPS. The recording duration is 5 minutes, 20 minutes, 1 Hour, and infinity.
The RockSteady stabilization is available in 2.7 K and 4K but surprisingly not in 1080p.
Fix 1: Optimized sound for an external microphone
When DJI released the Cynova microphone adapter there were talks that the adapter is not functioning properly and it is not recording the audio. DJI listened to the feedback and with this update, they have fixed the bug.Sadly I do not have the Cynova adapter to test this. I will soon update as soon as I get one.
Fix 2: Latency when recording 4K at 24/25/30 FPS
There were a lot of complaints regarding the latency on the screen of Osmo Action when recording 4K at 24/2530 FPS. DJI has also fixed this issue with this update. I have checked and the latency issue has been fixed.
Things to keep in mind while updating.
1. DJI has also updated the Mimo app so update the app before updating the Osmo Action as you will not find the notification of the update with the latest version of Mimo.
